The trip from Lake Powell to Zion National Park was only 120 miles. Again, the topography, a delight to the eye, challenged the RV driver. Climbs to 6000+ feet, then deep drops to river canyons caused me to harken for the flat roads of Florida. However, the landscape, in its color
and grandiose, again exposed the creation in its glory.
As we entered east from highway 89 to the entry to the National Park, we had to unhook the Jeep and wait for a tunnel to be evacuated so that a vehicle our size could travel through the 1.6 mile tunnel straddling the center line. Our height, at 11 feet 8 inches made our approach precarious, but doable.
We are settled in the park’s campground, dry camping (no water, electricity, or sewer hookups) and we run our generator for our morning coffee and our evening microwave meal. We bask at the base of sheer cliffs that drove the explorers of this area to deem it Godly, thus the name, Zion.

Pictures: Entering the first tunnel which was large enough to allow us through, the road along the cliff to the second tunnel, the tunnel that had to be blocked from the other side to allow us through, and our campsite for the next three days.
