A Fine Day in a Dam Spot

March 18,

We woke to a cloudless sky. In the a.m. we worked on the car and the rig while waiting for Janie to wake from her morning nap. Around noon we traveled to the Antelope Canyon, a unique slot canyon. The Navajo guide took us through this natural sandstone “tunnel” with shafts of sunlight descending from the natural skylights above. A very unique landform, visited by Kari a few years ago. Her pictures drove us to find this place, one that we will never forget.

We passed over the Glen Canyon Bridge, near the dam, for the third time, this time to stop and take pictures. This dam, the fourth largest dam in the US, forms Lake Powell, the body of water that we overlook from our campsite.

Pictures: Our campsite on Lake Powell, the canyon walls, the five of us on entry, and Glen Canyon Dam.

Hi Aunes All! We are glad to see you are having a good time and seeing some awesome countryside! It is good to see little Jane being such a trooper too. We are counting on Grandpa and GramBee to teach 'Sweets' some new tricks while she is RV'n! C&N you will be happy to know that you haven't missed any nice warm weather here in WA either..(it's cold and rainy--what a surprise!) Have more fun!!!
