Green Valley

March 12.

We drove the Jeep south out of Tucson to visit friends Jim and Anita Tomola. Jim, retired Air Force Lt. Colonel, obtained his teacher’s certificate and worked with me for several years. On retirement, our friendship has flourished, riding bicycles up the Orting trail and exchanging travel experiences and family pride. Jim and Anita now reside year round in Green Valley. They drove us around their pleasant community then hosted a neighborhood party in our honor. A grand gesture acknowledged and appreciated. Jim and Anita, we wished you lived nearby. Perhaps, someday soon, you will.

An addendum.

On March 1 and 2, Barb and I visited her uncle and aunt, Ken Lewis and Esther in Jackson, MS. Lewis had a variety of health issues. The morning after we arrived, Esther felt that Lewis needed to get out of the house so we drove to Vicksburg. It was apparent as we traveled through the park, that Lewis was in stress. As we returned that night, Lewis was admitted into the Emergency Room. He died today. Keep Esther Lewis in your prayers.
