Barb did laundry today. She remarked that I had only one pair of underwear in this week's batch. That could be a bad sign. It could mean that we are sleeping under a bridge and unable to access hygiene facilities. It could mean that we are in battle and unable to take the time to even shower. But it is a good sign. I spent the week in swim suits. I only wore pants one day, on Sunday to church.
It is super Tuesday and we are readying to leave. However, we may not be able to do so. We received an email yesterday that there was a fraud alert on our credit card. On following through it was revealed that someone in Illinois was using our card to charge $6000 worth of
merchandise. The account was frozen and a new card will be sent to us overnight express. If FEDEX delivers the card tomorrow, we will move on. We will stay here an extra night or two until the card arrives. Whatever the case, the credit card company will take care of the fraud.
It is also Fat Tuesday and we celebrated our last night here. It has been a special site with the water, the sea and land life and the great weather. This site has been one of our favorites.
If we leave tomorrow we may be out of communication for 4 or more days. We are driving into the Everglades National Park which, we hear, has no cell or WIFI signals. Then we enter Big Cypress National Preserve. It may be even more remote. So the blog may be on hold awhile. Our kids have our emergency contact numbers.
Goodbye Keys. You have been great. A special place. We spent the entire day at our campsite.
