Barb and I were honored to be invited to the welcoming home ceremony for the 4/2 Strykers returning to Ft Lewis from Iraq. We sat in a gym setting and watched, via video, their plane land at nearby McChord AFB. Two hours later, the 300 soldiers marched in formation into the gym. The pride of accomplishment, the fact that no casualties had been incurred in the year long deployment, and the reconnection of family and friends made for a very moving evening.  |
